ARTCRANK PDX will feature hand-made, bike-inspired posters created by Portland area artists. Limited edition, signed and numbered copies of all posters will be available for $40 each.
UPDATE: ARTCRANK PDX is returning to The Ace Hotel in the heart of Portland’s Pearl District on Thursday, October 3 and Friday, October 4 with an all new show of bike-inspired posters by local artists. But in order to have a poster show, we need poster artists.
CALL FOR ARTISTS
We are now accepting artist submissions for our 2013 show. Please note that we have a strict locals-only policy, and will only consider artists who live and work in the greater Portland area.
To be considered for the show, send three digital samples of previous art and design work (URLs, JPGs, PDFs, etc.) to us via email.
While we definitely look for experience with screen-printing, letterpress and other craft printing techniques, your samples do not need to be posters and/or bike-related — just work that shows your skills and style.
Please do not submit proposed/spec poster designs — only artists who are selected for the show will be asked to create new work.
The Call for Entries will close on Saturday, July 27, 2013 — submit your samples today!
We’ll be working with our friends from Widmer Brothers Brewing, Neenah Paper, and Clif Bar to celebrate bikes and local artists, as well as to support Bicycle Transportation Alliance (BTA), our Cause Partner for this year’s show. BTA promotes bicycling and improve bicycling conditions in Oregon, creating communities where people can meet their daily transportation needs on a bike. Stay tuned for more information on all of the above and more.
Please check back for updates, and follow ARTCRANK on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram for the latest news. And if you’d like to see photos and videos from previous events, connect with us on Flickr and Vimeo as well. See you soon!
