Vélib’ — the world’s second largest bike share program — joins forces with ARTCRANK for an international bike poster show in Paris.
Since the 2007 debut of Vélib’, the now-legendary Parisian bike share program, ridership in the City of Lights has exploded. While Paris was once considered to be a city best experienced by car, visitors and residents now take more than 110,000 trips every day on Vélib’ bikes, helping make it the world’s second largest bike share program.
We’ve long admired the achievements of Vélib’ from afar, so excuse us for being more than a little giddy about partnering with them to bring ARTCRANK to a city that knows a thing or two about bikes and art.
Top artists from France, the UK and US will produce original prints inspired by discovering Paris on a Vélib’ bicycle. We’re set on the Americans and Brits, but we’re still in search of talented French artists for the show…
Aimez-vous des vélos?
To be considered for the show, interested French artists should send three digital samples of previous two-dimensional art and design work (URLs, JPGs, PDFs, etc.) to us via email.
Samples do not need to be posters and/or bike-related, just work that shows your skills and style. Please do not submit proposed poster designs — only artists who are selected for the show will be asked to create new work.
Artists chosen for the event will receive €800 each to design and print posters based on the idea of discovering or exploring Paris on a Vélib’ bicycle.
The Call for Entries will close on Saturday, February 9 — submit your samples today!
Vive la Paris!
